Looking for a hands-on experience in Hanoi? At our Hanoi knife making workshop in Da Sy blacksmith village, you can step inside a traditional family workshop, meet artisan Hoang Tung and make your own knife to take home.

From the heat of the forge to the final sharpening, you will discover the work behind an everyday tool and the people who keep this craft alive.

Discover Da Sy Blacksmith Village in Hanoi

Located in the Kien Hung ward area of Hanoi, Da Sy is a village where blacksmithing remains part of daily life. Inside local workshops, makers heat steel, shape blades and finish tools by hand.

Our family workshop is part of that living tradition. For us, making knives is both our livelihood and a skill passed down through generations. Welcoming visitors gives us a chance to share the craft beyond the finished products on our shelves.

For travellers interested in local culture, a knife making workshop offers a closer look at the working life of a Vietnamese craft village.

Meet Artisan Hoang Tung

Artisan Hoang Tung is a third-generation blacksmith with nearly 50 years of knife-making experience. He is one of ten knife-making artisans in Da Sy.

Over decades at the forge, he has developed the judgement that comes from working with steel every day, when to heat it, where to strike it and how to refine a blade into a useful tool.

During the workshop, he and our family team guide you through the process, helping you understand each stage as you work on your own knife.

What You Will Do at Our Hanoi Knife Making Workshop

You do not need previous blacksmithing experience. Our team introduces the tools and guides you through each step, providing assistance where needed.
